In one report, Allah says: “I make a third with two partners as long as one of them does not cheat the other. But when one partner betrays another, I leave them both” 1. What could be a better business strategy than on-boarding none other than God Himself as a partner? It’s a sure recipe of success by all standards. Yet the same report also brings our attention to a dangerous and common threat that any partnership is most susceptible to. The sneaky lethal betrayal. It creeps in our actions unnoticed and is even more dangerous than cheating because we are dead before we know what hit us.
PartnershipXperts is an effort to guard against any obvious or hidden threats before their deadly symptoms appear. Just like a good system has the power to produce extraordinary output from even the least-energetic people; the absence of a system makes even the sincerest partners vulnerable to slack off. We know it all too well because we had been there. The idea of PartnershipXperts was conceived in 2019 when we realized that there’s a glaring mismatch between the blessed image of partnership in religion and its high failure rate in reality. It was a time when we had recently formed our third partnership and were determined to make it work this time.
So we immersed ourselves in the partnership science. From enrolling in an intensive entrepreneurship bootcamp and other professional trainings to interviewing people to scouring books, researches and blogs, we finally began to understand what exactly goes wrong and how best to prevent it. PartnershipXperts is the result of all that hard work and experiences and we are still learning. We initially made this Partner Handbook for ourselves, but as friends and colleagues started requesting for a sample, we decided to launch it as a product. Our Partner Handbook incorporates elements of business strategy, self-governance and ethics into a no-nonsense practical tool that we believe is indispensable for any partnership. Small or large.
